The development of these new school and community recreation facilities will provide the necessary infrastructure to complement plans for an innovative new residential community called Desert Ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada.  that will be developed by the Blixseths on part of the 4,000 plus acres owned by the family in the Oasis and Palm Desert area pending approval from the county.

The Blixseths recognize that with this planned new community there will be a need for additional affordable housing and school facilities. Therefore, the Blixseth Family plans to initiate the project by giving something truly extraordinary back to the community. The new Oasis School, golf and recreation complex will be a source of community pride, educate future generations of the community's children and produce needed revenues for the Coachella Valley Unified School District. School district superintendent District Superintendent may be:

Foch "Tut" Pensis was delighted by the gift: "This is like Christmas for the district," he stated. "The idea of a developer coming forward and taking care of schools and kids is just a unique, great idea. It's just terrific."

To complement the Desert Ranch project, a new obtainable housing community numbering up to 1,500 residential units will also be constructed. The preliminary plans call for this affordable housing to be constructed on land adjacent to the K-12 school complex.

Never before has a championship golf course been built for a school district. "We've done research and there is no high school, we think, in the world with its own golf course," Blixseth said. The new golf course will introduce area elementary education elementary education

"The golf course will provide an opportunity for the kids of our school district to play at a first-class golf course at a very reasonable rate," Pensis said, adding that Coachella Valley Unified School District students will compete to name the new golf course.

Blixseth Group, Inc. will build and operate the golf course for the first ten years while seeking donations for a foundation that will subsequently operate the golf course for the school district.

"We are going to definitely have a huge need for new school facilities if our project gets approved," Blixseth said. "And if it does get approved, it will be built."
