The IBM models enable the rapid creation of PPC750GX/GL-based systems at the transaction level in SystemC, prior to the creation of the hardware prototype. The IBM Mambo model has been integrated as a CoWare Instruction Accurate Processor Support Package. The resulting PPC750GX/GL Processor Support Package can be configured in the CoWare tools through a configuration file. Together with the other IP models in CoWare's extensive model library, the availability of this model enables the creation of various platforms within the CoWare tools. The CoWare tools then provide an optimal environment for fast simulation of the software running on the processor models so that effects on the system can be analyzed and optimizations can be made early in the design. This shortens the design cycle and reduces the risk of mismatches between the resulting hardware and software.
