CoSine's IP Revenue Starter Kit Reduces Mean Time to Market, Driving

Service Providers from Concept to Revenue in Record Time

CoSine Communications, the leading provider of next-generation IP service delivery platforms, today introduced the IP Revenue Starter Kit (RSK RSK Ribosomal S6 Kinase

RSK Reaktor-Sicherheitskommission (German: reactor safety commission)
RSK Robinson-Schensted-Knuth (combinatorial algorithm)
) -- a suite of programs, services and tools designed to help Service Providers (SPs) address each phase of the deployment cycle.

The RSK gives SPs everything needed to ensure the shortest possible time between evaluating the business case for network-based services and generating service revenues.

"The goal of the Revenue Starter Kit is to allow Service Providers to reduce their Mean Time to Revenue (MTTR (Mean Time To Repair, Mean Time To Restore) The average time it takes to repair a failed component. See reliability.

MTTR - Mean Time To Recovery
)," said Mark Showalter, vice president of marketing at CoSine Communications. "Business case support, professional services (job) professional services - A department of a supplier providing consultancy and programming manpower for the supplier's products. , assistance with service definition as well as messaging and product financing all wrap around CoSine's IP Service Delivery Platform to provide the most comprehensive value proposition in the industry. "The IP Revenue Starter Kit is what you would typically expect from much larger and established players in this market," said Ray Keneipp, director and principal analyst at The Burton Group. "This announcement highlights CoSine's commitment to simplifying the deployment of value-added IP services for next-generation Service Providers -- these programs will be well received by the market place."

"It's a well-thought-out package," said Jennifer Liscom, principle analyst at Dataquest. "Service deployment is not about selecting a 'box' and putting it into the network. Today, marketing, professional services and financing packages are key to the Service Provider's ability to quickly show profit."

Details of the Revenue Starter Kit

CoSine's IP Revenue Starter kit has five components, each addressing a specific phase of the Service Provider's product deployment cycle.

1) Business Case Tools

CoSine has developed several tools to assist the SP in developing its business case. CoSine's business case tools include a Return on Investment (ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot). ) analysis program and a detailed cost-of-ownership model, which compares network-based and premises-based managed firewall services. Working closely with the Service Provider's management team, CoSine uses these tools to help the SP understand which service rollout plan provides the best return on investment and the time frames for turning a profit on these services.

2) The IP Service Delivery Platform

After examining the costs and payback Payback

associated with a network-based implementation, Service Providers are ready to invest in the IP Service Delivery Platform. The IP Service Delivery Platform includes three components:

-- IPSX 9000(tm): a 26-slot service processing switch that provides
the switching, routing and computational capabilities needed to
deliver high-value services, such as VPNs, with scalable high
performance for tens of thousands of subscriber networks

-- InVision(tm): an open, standards-based Service Management System
(SMS) that allows SPs to easily provision, deliver, account for
and maintain IP services distributed through a network of IPSX
     9000 switches

-- InGage(tm): a browser-based Customer Network Management (CNM)
system that enables subscribers to retain visibility and control
of their particular services on the public IP network

Service Providers that deploy the IP Service Delivery Platform can offer enterprise subscribers a vast array of value-added IP services, including Network Associate's Gauntlet gauntlet /gaunt·let/ (gawnt´let) a bandage covering the hand and fingers like a glove.  firewall, both site-to-site and dial-up IPSec encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity. 3) Healthy Start(SM) Professional Services

The Healthy Start program focuses on the lab evaluation, market trials and deployment of the CoSine IP Service Delivery Platform. Healthy Start professional services include eight programs that range from network planning to full systems integration and deployment. These services also include seamless integration An addition of a new application, routine or device that works smoothly with the existing system. It implies that the new feature or program can be installed and used without problems. Contrast with "transparent," which implies that there is no discernible change after installation.  with existing Operational Support Systems, which simplifies network operations for the SP.

4) RAMP

The Revenue Acceleration Marketing Program (RAMP) provides four modules focused on the marketing aspects of network-based service deployment. CoSine works closely with the Service Provider to define the services offered and to develop the messaging that will best highlight the benefits of these services to its subscribers. Additionally, CoSine will train the Service Provider's sales team on how to sell these services and help the SP communicate the messaging to their subscribers.

5) Financing

The Financing component of the IP Revenue Starter Kit allows the Service Provider to aggressively deploy network-based services while preserving precious capital. CoSine provides financing terms that encompass both products and services, allowing the SP to spread costs over an extended period of time.
