WorkManager Functionality Targets Developers, End Users and

Manufacturers with Large, Complex Product Structures

CoCreate Software Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, today announced the release of WorkManager 6.0, its collaborative product-development-management solution.

WorkManager now provides out-of-box product solutions that give customers a pre-configured application that immediately contributes to the productivity of their product-development teams. A new Java(TM) Development Environment (JDE) provides WorkManager Java objects and tools to accelerate implementation. In this environment, powerful and easy-to-use WorkManager applications can be simply enhanced using a Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

A new Rapid Client Deployment (RCD) capability automatically notifies end users of software updates and empowers them to request installation of the update directly through a browser. Additionally, RCD permits companies to distribute WorkManager clients throughout the enterprise and their supply chain via the Internet. In addition, configuration-management enhancements provide performance improvements for product-structure manipulations and operations. WorkManager also has an enhanced ability to deal with variant bills of materials.

End users can immediately take advantage of the easy-to-use Java GUI. End users and administrators also benefit from the RCD mechanism, which drastically simplifies client deployment and enables the administrator to deploy all clients, automatically, from a single point regardless of the destination location.
