CoCreate Software Further Enhances Advisor Technologies for the CoCreate Solution with DDS-C Version 6.0.

and Functionality

CoCreate Software Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, today announced Version 6.0 of its Design and Drafting System for Cabling (DDS-C DDS-C Design and Drafting System for Cabling ) software, further enhancing the CoCreate Solution for shared-space design.

DDS-C is the complete solution for electro-mechanical engineering -- from circuit diagram A circuit diagram (also known as an electrical diagram, elementary diagram, or electronic schematic) is a simplified conventional pictorial representation of an electrical circuit.  design to cabinet layout design, documentation and manufacturing. DDS-C features powerful advisor capabilities that simplify design across entire electrical- engineering projects. With built-in features for online generation of component and signal references, circuit diagram designs are verified for logical correctness and completeness.

Available on Microsoft(R) Windows(R) platforms, the new release of DDS-C includes redlining and viewing products as well as support for VRML. By implementing DDS-C 6.0 into their CAD environments, users will be able to deliver product documentation with improved efficiency and functionality, reducing paper work and keeping design changes up to date.

can be printed on demand, while powerful search and highlight capabilities support the user when viewing circuit diagrams within a Windows environment (1) (upper case "W") Refers to computers running under a Microsoft Windows operating system.

(2) (lower case "w") Also called a "windowing environment," it refers to any software that provides multiple windows on screen such as Windows, Mac, Motif and X Window.
. The capabilities to search by components, signal names or other design attributes also dramatically improve the documentation, manufacturing and maintenance of a customer's product.

Using DDS-C's Web publishing Creating a Web site and placing it on the Web server. A Web site is a collection of HTML pages with the home page typically named INDEX.HTML. Web sites are designed using Web authoring software which provides a graphical layout capability or by hand coding in HTML or both.  capabilities, design information can be downloaded in either an intranet or Internet environment, enabling the viewing and mark-up process to be completed at the customer's site. Built-in file size compression reduces download times and is supported on any standard PC using Windows 95 or Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. (R).

Another new module, CoCreate DDS-C/RemoteAnnotator, also complements the engineering process with mark-up and redlining functionality. Modifications can be returned to the design departments easily for design changes according to according to

"CoCreate's main goal is to enable a co-creative product-generation environment," said Tilman F. Schad, president and chief executive officer of CoCreate. "Going beyond historical concurrent engineering, DDS-C 6.0 represents a milestone in the co-creative process that allows professionals to join together in the generation of innovative products."

DDS-C 6.0 also supports the design of electrical-assembly configuration within circuit diagram and cabinet layout design, improving the design and manufacturing cycles for pre-configured assemblies that are part of the product design. After complementing the logical design with physical layout of cabinets, the finished cabinet layout can be exported in HTML HTML

Markup language derived from SGML that is used to prepare hypertext documents. Relatively easy for nonprogrammers to master, HTML is the language used for documents on the World Wide Web.
and VRML format, enabling the user to share layout information in the early stages of the design process.

CoCreate's Dynamic Conferencing See teleconferencing.  module or any VRML-Plug-in application can view the place of components, cable ducts, mounting rails and mechanical add-on parts in 3-D, before manufacturing. Powerful enhancements such as improved sheet title block management, undo To restore the last editing operation that has taken place. For example, if a segment of text has been deleted or changed, performing an undo will restore the original text. Programs may have several levels of undo, including being able to reconstruct the original data for all edits , definable function keys and automatic cable plan generation complements the circuit diagram and cabinet layout design.
