CoCreate Announces Immediate Availability of OneSpace 4.0; OneSpace 4 Brings 3-D Models from Different CAD Systems Together for Web-enabled Real-time Collaboration.

CoCreate Software Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard Company, today announced significant new enhancements to OneSpace, CoCreate's award-winning Web-enabled collaborative engineering application. Version 4.0 includes new native adapters for several leading CAD packages, thereby broadening the heterogeneous reach of the OneSpace technology and strengthening CoCreate's position as market leader in collaborative engineering design software.

With OneSpace 4, users can collaborate with one another on 3-D models from different CAD systems over the Web, in real time. Users can now bring heterogeneous models from different CAD systems together and view them in context, take precise measurements and annotate the model. Geometric modification of the 3-D model is available to all users in a consistent fashion, independent of the originating CAD system. Because of its special CAD-independent capabilities, OneSpace allows team members outside the enterprise -- from suppliers to customers -- to join and actively participate in collaborative sessions.

The award-winning technology in OneSpace is now available to a much broader set of native CAD data. In the past, CAD programs have relied on STEP, IGES and other data translations. But the new adapters introduced with OneSpace 4 allow transparent access to native data from CoCreate's SolidDesigner, Dassault Systems' CATIA, PTC's Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics and SDRC's I-DEAS Master Series software applications.

Another enhancement included in OneSpace 4 is an automatically-generated change log and reporting feature that provides detailed information on changes made during a collaborative session. This release also includes the capability to share VRML-based engineering analysis results. Further, integration with NetMeeting enables sharing of 2-D drawings and office documents, and sketching on a whiteboard.

The Collaboration Vision Becomes a Reality
