Co-extrusion die produces advanced profiles.

The Series 220 is specially engineered as co-extrusion tooling for producing advanced profiles and seals in combinations of materials, including rubber and other thermosets thermosets, materials that can not be softened on heating. In thermosetting polymers, the polymer chains are joined (or cross-linked) by intermolecular bonding. Thermosets are usually supplied as partially polymerized or as monomer-polymer mixtures. , as well as various types of thermoplastics used for aerospace, automotive and construction products.

The Series 200 tooling can extrude extrude /ex·trude/ (ek-strldbomacd´)

product sizes of 1/2" (1.27 cm) to 2-1/2" (6.34 cm). Said to be a key money saving technical advantage of the 220 Series is that it offers simultaneous directed material flow for a single product or multiple families of products that have the same, identical material requirements, yet must be extruded in different end use sizes.

One unique design configuration allows the extruded material to pass through the Series 220 tooling and prevents compound degradation, as well as stagnation Stagnation

A period of little or no growth in the economy. Economic growth of less than 2-3% is considered stagnation. Sometimes used to describe low trading volume or inactive trading in securities.

Notes:
A good example of stagnation was the U.S. economy in the 1970s.

the company. The material flow can be directed to various areas of the substrate in order to create a more precise end product. All flow passages are said to be specially designed using 3D/CAD and proprietary flow analysis software.

The Series 220 incorporates engineering advances such as a precision shut-off valve that regulates the flow of compound. With the co-extrusion capability, the company's design is said to eliminate downtime The time during which a computer is not functioning due to hardware, operating system or application program failure.  that would normally be required to change the dies, in addition to saving space on the factory floor.
