Co-Star of ``Your Show of Shows'' Receives a Show of His Own From the Friars Club of California; Television Hall of Famer Carl Reiner to Be Honored at Special Tribute on Aug. 18, 2000.

With 12 Emmy awards, one Grammy award The Grammy Awards (originally called the Gramophone Awards) are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States for outstanding achievements in the record industry. The current President of the Academy is Neil Portnow.  and an induction to the Television Academy Hall of Fame, Carl Reiner is gearing up to receive yet another honor -- this time from the Friars Club Friars Club can refer to:

Serving as master of ceremonies for the event will be the Club's Abbott and legendary talk show host Larry King Larry King (born November 19, 1933) is an award-winning American writer, journalist and broadcaster. Best known for creating, writing, directing and co-starring in "The Dick Van Dyke Show," and for his co-starring role on the legendary program, "Your Show of Shows," Carl Reiner also has an impressive list of movie credits, including co-writing and directing "Enter Laughing," "The Comic," "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid," "Man With Two Brains" and "Bert Rigby, You're a Fool," as well as writing "The Thrill of it All," and "The Art of Love," and directing "Where's Poppa pop·pa

About the Friars Club

The Friars Club of California, a private club, began in 1946 with Hollywood legends such as Jack Benny, George Burns and active member Milton Berle. Today, the Friars Club boasts a complete exercise facility, fine dining and activities for members ranging from plays to trips. Over its 50 years, the Club has been the setting for celebrity roasts and various special events.
