They have been chosen to participate based upon the work they have conducted with their Turkeys 4 America program, now entering its 10th year of operation. The Nally's began their turkey drive in 1996 after hearing on the news that there was a shortage of turkeys at The Greater Boston Food Bank. Each year since, Turkeys 4 America has engaged hundreds of schools, businesses and organizations to provide over 1 million servings of turkeys to food banks in Boston, Ohio, California, and Chicago. School children throughout the country participate in the annual Turkeys 4 America Challenge Cup, where students rally to make donations to help feed the hungry.
