Co-Founders of Turkeys 4 America to Deliver Speech at Presidential Inauguration Youth Appreciation Concert.


BOSTON -- Dan and Betsy Nally of Westwood, Mass, will speak on youth volunteer initiatives in America with a focus on the Turkeys 4 America program they started to benefit The Greater Boston Greater Boston is the area of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts surrounding the city of Boston, Massachusetts. While Metro Boston tends to be the "Inner Core" surrounding the City of Boston, Greater Boston overlaps the North and South Shores, as well as the MetroWest region.  Food Bank

On Tuesday, January 18, 2005, Dan (17) and Betsy (14) Nally of Westwood, MA will be featured at the 55th Presidential Inauguration's Youth Appreciation Concert. They have been chosen to participate based upon the work they have conducted with their Turkeys 4 America program, now entering its 10th year of operation. The two were chosen from a nationwide search of mentors for youth volunteerism.

With Turkeys 4 America chapters already thriving in Boston, Ohio and Chicago, we hope to garner more support for our mission of feeding the hungry," said Dan Nally. The Youth Appreciation Concert "America's Future Rocks Today" will be held at The Armory from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. The youth entertainment concert, being sponsored by Jen and Barbara Bush, will focus on community and public service. It will include musical acts, video clips, and guest speakers. Other speakers will include athlete Jason Sehorn Jason Heath Sehorn (born April 15, 1971 in Sacramento, California) is a former professional football player in the National Football League. High School Career
He played football for Mt. Shasta High School in Mt. Shasta, California and then Shasta College in Redding, CA.

The Nally's began their turkey drive in 1996 after hearing on the news that there was a shortage of turkeys at The Greater Boston Food Bank. Each year since, Turkeys 4 America has engaged hundreds of schools, businesses and organizations to provide over 1 million servings of turkeys to food banks in Boston, Ohio, California, and Chicago. School children throughout the country participate in the annual Turkeys 4 America Challenge Cup, where students rally to make donations to help feed the hungry. And, Turkeys for America has several corporate sponsors who have helped the organization reach their goals, including Perdue Farms Perdue Farms is a major chicken processing company based in Salisbury, Maryland, United States. The Greater Boston Food Bank distributed more than 30,000 turkeys for Thanksgiving, thanks in large part to the Nally's efforts. The Food Bank annually distributes more than 20 million pounds of food to hundreds of member food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, daycare centers for children at risk, and other charitable feeding agencies throughout eastern Massachusetts.
