POCKETS 'N PLAY(TM) Series Will Address Preschoolers' Need

for Guided Physical Activity and Motor Skill Development

Kathy Parker, co-creator of BARNEY(R) and president of Marsupial Media, Inc., has just completed the development phase of an innovative preschool children's television series. Parker said the series, called POCKETS 'N PLAY(TM), will address the growing need for guided physical activity among preschoolers, and help children build self-confidence and important motor skills. Parker, who also served as co-executive producer of the original PBS series "BARNEY & Friends," has been working with leading child development experts at Yale University and Tennessee Technological University and an award-winning creative team to develop her new program concept. The series is targeted to launch as early as 2004.

"POCKETS 'N PLAY is a fun, pre-school movement-based program that will help children build self-confidence and develop early motor skills to meet cognitive, physical and social challenges for life-long learning," Parker explained.

Parker said her new live-action series will serve children ages 2 to 5. The program will feature a cast of endearing, fanciful animal characters, as well as real-life playmates, who will lead young viewers through activities that help them to master movements and to explore their ever-changing worlds. "The mastery of motor skills is an important aspect of a child's overall development," comments Dorothy Singer, Ed.D., Co-Director of the Yale University Family Television Research and Consultation Center and an advisor to the new series.

Parker began her career as a special education teacher in Michigan. She was part of the original team who developed BARNEY and The Backyard Gang(R) and BARNEY & Friends(R). She also served as co-executive producer of the PBS "BARNEY & Friends" TV series. In addition, Parker served as publisher of BARNEY Books(R) from 1992-1994, and helped develop many BARNEY(R) toys and games working closely with licensing partners. She is a recipient of the "Child Advocate of the Year" award from the Collin County (TX) Children's Advocacy Center, and serves on the National Children's Alliance Advisory Council.

Parker is collaborating with husband Phil Parker, a Grammy-nominated composer and lyricist. Mr. Parker wrote more than 100 songs for the PBS "BARNEY & Friends" TV series, many of which achieved Platinum and Gold status. POCKETS 'N PLAY will come to life with original music composed by Mr. Parker. The Parkers are joined by a veteran team of children's television professionals and an advisory board of internationally respected child development experts.
