Clyvia Inc. Receives Initial Test Results of its Technology.

POINT ROBERTS Point Roberts, uninc. town (1990 pop. 750), Whatcom co., NW Wash., on the Strait of Georgia near the tip of the Point Roberts peninsula, extending south from British Columbia, Canada, and separated from the Washington mainland by Boundary Bay. , Wash. -- Clyvia Inc. (OTCBB OTCBB

:CLYV) announced today that it has completed an initial study of the catalytic depolymerization depolymerization /de·po·lym·er·iza·tion/ (de?po-lim?er-i-za´shun) the conversion of a polymer into its component monomers.

technology that it is currently developing. Although the results of this study indicated that the diesel fuel produced by Clyvia's proprietary technology, in its current state of development, does not yet fully meet strict environmental requirements, it did meet most of the fuel parameters required under international fuel standard DIN51603-1.

Clyvia considers the overall results of its initial study to be a success. Three diesel fuel samples were produced using Clyvia's proprietary technology. One of the three samples was able to produce diesel fuel with a cetane ce·tane

rating of 55.8. Cetane ratings indicate the ignition quality of diesel fuels, similar to octane ratings for gasoline. The current standard for diesel fuel is a cetane rating of approximately 52. With a cetane rating of 55.8, the diesel sample produced by Clyvia's process could even be used in modern high-performance vehicle engines with reduced pollutant emissions. The sample produced did not, however, meet DIN 51603-1's stringent sulfur content requirements. The excess sulfur detected in the sample was likely produced from additives in the recycled waste oil used as the input material for the process. Clyvia's next round of development and testing will focus on demonstrating that, by using pure input products, its proprietary technology can produce diesel fuels that meet necessary sulfur content requirements.

Clyvia Inc. is currently in the process of a developing a proprietary technology that utilizes a process known as catalytic depolymerization to produce diesel fuel and heating oil from various forms of recyclable waste Recyclable waste is a waste type that has the potential to be recycled. A typical municipal waste stream (bin bag) contains the following components that can be recycled if recovered in a suitably clean state with little contamination:
materials, including vegetable oils <onlyinclude> This list of vegetable oils includes all vegetable oils that are extracted from plants by placing the relevant part of the plant under pressure to extract the oil. , plastics and organic solids.
