Clubbing together gives fund a boost.GENEROUS students got into the full swing of things and raised thousands of pounds for Sir Bobby Robson's cancer charity. The six students, all in their final year of a Sport Management degree at Northumbria University Northumbria University is a modern university located in Newcastle upon Tyne in North East England. It took place at Ramside Hall, in Durham, attracted 30 teams and raised pounds 7,000. Former Sunderland and Newcastle United midfielder Paul Bracewell Paul Bracewell (born 19th July 1962) is a former England international footballer, an excellent midfielder, although his talent was hampered by injuries as the years went by. He is probably best known as an Everton player, although he made most appearances for Sunderland A.F.C. attended and Sir Bobby's son, Andrew, played alongside former Durham cricketer Mike Roseberry. Lloyd, 21, from Chester-le-Street, said: "We all know someone who's been affected by cancer in some way and one of the lads had recently lost a close family friend to the disease so we knew which charity we wanted to help. " The Foundation has already raised more than pounds 1.2m towards the fight against cancer since it was launched in March 2008. Sir Bobby said: "I'm thrilled to receive this very sizeable donation for my charity. These young men have worked incredibly hard to make sure the event went as planned and they should each be very proud of their achievement.
