IF many hours of your youth were spent bashing buttons on the SNES to the sounds of "hadoken" and "sonic boom" then get very excited.

The manufacturers behind classic video game Street Fighter II have just released a pack of sound FX and samples that will enable DJs and producers to cut, scratch, remix and re-edit the parts to their heart's content.

Available in lossless wav format through Trackitdown.net, there's a remix competition for the best mixes, with X-Box 360s and Street Fighter IV games up for grabs.

Meanwhile, vinyl fans can get their hands on limited edition sample packs from selected stockists throughout the UK, including Underground Solushun in Edinburgh and Rubadub Records in Glasgow.

DANCE music and the Army seem an odd combination, but tonight in Aberdeen there's an event that hopes to raise cash for members of the forces who have been injured mentally or physically on duty.

Dance For Heroes is headlined by Dutch electro/trance DJ Richard Durand, with Inside Out's William Daniel and DFH's Richie Baratt. It's at The Forum, 10pm til 3am, pounds 15 plus booking fee.
