The club promises an overdose of hedonism hedonism (hē`dənĭz'əm) [Gr.,=pleasure], the doctrine that holds that pleasure is the highest good. Ancient hedonism expressed itself in two ways: the cruder form was that proposed by Aristippus and the early Cyrenaics, who believed and rubber dolls but have banned lurking in corners. Filthy Gorgeous opens tomorrow, 10pm to 5am, and it's a bargain: pounds 5 on the door. It's pure feel-good house music that is both timeless and effortlessly funky. At a time when dance is defined by crisp electronic software-friendly music, it's wonderful to hear an album that's richly soulful and refreshingly different by being traditionally funky and mixed with flamboyance to spare. THE latest Global Gathering CD is as on the button as ever, with a superb three-disc set that is bound to suit all tastes. The first CD features Justice, The Chemical Brothers and all the latest electronic sounds. Disc two concentrates on the techier side of trance with cuts from Dogzilla, Dubfire and Tiesto. For tunes that will keep all the 50,000 Global Gathering festival punters happy look no further than disc three, which reads like a who's who in dance. SINGLES AXWELL is back with another red hot single that's going to ignite dancefloors all over.
