WYNYARD Golf Club Wynyard Golf Club is a golf club situated in the village of Wynyard near Sedgefield, Co. Durham England. The Course was built in 1996 alongside the building of Wynyard and was designed by Hawtree.  is bucking the trend for bogeys in an industry that has seen a succession of clubs fall into administration this year by scoring an impressive 30% rise in membership over the last nine months.

On average, it said, it was recruiting one new member a week to the club, which has invested more than pounds 300,000 in course improvements since 2008.

It also reported a 22% increase in conference bookings and a staggering 86% rise in wedding bookings since 2008. Christmas and New Year bookings for 2009 are also up compared to last year.

Chris Mounter, director of golf at the club, said: "Whilst other golf clubs may be cutting back at this time, we are definitely looking forward and continuing to invest in facilities both on and off the course.

"Being able to attract new members in the current economic climate is very encouraging and by maintaining our high standards and exceptional standards of play, we can continue to buck the trend Buck the Trend
