Club iT Announces Field Trial and Cooperating Game Companies for G-cluster Games-on-Demand in Korea.

This previously announced joint field trial with KT and Club iT has commenced operation on November 25 in Seoul and the surrounding areas through KT's broadband network. The trial is scheduled to continue for a period of one month. KT and Club iT are working towards a formal agreement of adopting G-cluster games-on-demand as one of KT's value-added services.

Some of the world's leading publishers are participating in the field trial including Codemasters, HUDSON SOFT Hudson Soft is a Japanese company founded on May 18, 1973. Initially, Hudson dealt with personal computer products, but has expanded to the development and publishing of video games, mobile content, and video game peripherals. , and Sega Corporation. A dedicated grid of game servers enables the latest video games to be played on-demand with any broadband-connected device, including existing digital cable and IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) Also called "TV over IP," IPTV delivers scheduled TV programs and video-on-demand (VOD) via the IP protocol and digital streaming techniques used to watch video on the Internet.  set-top boxes, entry level PCs, and 3G mobile phones. The games are run on central game servers rather than the devices themselves. The game servers transmit the audio-visual output stream of the game to the client devices which only need enough processing capacity to receive the stream and play back the video and audio of the game.

All existing and future game titles can be brought to the G-cluster platform with minimal porting work. The server-centric nature of the system is particularly well suited to multiplayer and other community-building games.
