Clow Valve supports High School metalcasting education.


When Oskaloosa High School remodeled their industrial technology department, Clow Valve valve, device for controlling the flow of fluids (liquids and gases). Valves vary in construction and size depending upon their function. Some are classified according to their method of operation or design, e.g. , Oskaloosa, Iowa Oskaloosa is a city in and the county seat of Mahaska County, Iowa, United States.GR6 The population was 10,938 at the 2000 census.

Oskaloosa is the current home of William Penn University and the former home of Oskaloosa College.

Industrial technology teacher David Bower David Bower (born 1969) is a deaf actor who is best known for his role as David, the younger brother of Charles, in the comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral. Born in Wrexham,North Wales, he is also a sign dancer and choreographer.  approached Clow Valve HR Manager David Cummins through an industrial technology advisory committee for support. Assistant Plant Manager John Grahek met with the school and assessed their needs to bring the old school metalcasting facility back to working order.

"We found one of the biggest needs was to purchase a new melting furnace furnace, enclosed space for the burning of fuel. There are many kinds of furnaces, the type depending upon the fuel and the use to which the heat produced within it is put. Most familiar are the furnaces used in the heating of buildings.  for aluminum and brass," said Grahek.

 and Joseph, Tulsa, Okla. Mso, Canfield and Joseph supplied, at no cost, all the bonded sand and molding materials needed for the metalcasting shop. Clow provided the personal protective equipment and guidance needed to run a safe facility.

"This has been a great project and one I'm close to," said Grahek, a 1983 graduate from Oskaloosa High who poured his first casting in a high school metals class.
