Clothing company grows into bigger space in Fashion District building.


Adams Adams, town (1990 pop. 9,445), Berkshire co., NW Mass., in the Berkshires, on the Hoosic River; inc. 1778. Its manufactures include chemicals, textiles, and paper products. The Berkshire region attracts tourists year-round.  & Co. Real Estate recently brokered a seven-year, 4,587 s/f deal at 1384 Broadway Broadway, famous thoroughfare in New York City. MISS Sportswear creates seven different clothing lines, encompassing the children's, women's, juniors and plus-size markets.

The company distributes nationally in high-end, department and budget stores.

David Menaged of Adams & Co. represented the tenant in the transaction while Mark Salmon of Helmsely-Spear Inc. represented the landlord. Although details of the lease were undisclosed, asking rents were $35 per square foot.

The 25-story, 217,321 s/f building is conveniently located in Manhattan's booming Fashion District. Other tenants include Nash International, Glorious Sun and Jeffrey Craig Ltd. MISS Sportswear plans to use the space for showrooms and general and executive offices. "The building has worked so well for them over the years and this new larger location will accommodate their growing space needs," said Menaged.
