Clothestime opens World Wide Web Site.ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20, 1995--Clothestime Inc. Monday creates a new dialogue with its customers as it goes on-line with the opening of its global site on the World Wide Web at http://www.clothestime.com or at http://www.ctme.com. (CTME is the company's symbol on the National Association of Securities Dealer Automatic Quotation System, NASDAQ.) "We've always welcomed our customers' input," said John Ortega II, chairman and chief executive officer of Clothestime Inc., referring to the company's use of in-store surveys and focus groups, "but with the Internet we'll really be able to talk with them." Ortega supported his claim by listing his own e-mail address (jortega@ctme.com) and encouraging his customers to contact him. "I live fashion and love computers and I cannot think of a better way of staying in touch with consumers by combining the two," he noted. The national women's apparel chain brings its world of fashions to the Internet with pages of fashion tips and promotions. Though geared mainly for women, men will also be interested in the company's history, financial information, job openings and list of store locations. "We recognize that the majority Internet users are men," Ortega said, "but we feel that will change as women find more topics of interest and become more comfortable just browsing the net." The Clothestime home-page is a user-friendly guide to young women's fashions. A simple click of the mouse will take women into the company's "Guest Lounge," where they can leisurely gain fashion tips, offer their own comments and complete a survey. From there women can move to an up-to-date calendar of store events. The heart of the site is the "Fashion Flash," a fashion advisory which will be updated regularly. Currently, it features "Fall Trends" and "Primary Colors," two very exciting sections which guide women in putting together their autumn wordrobes. For professional women, "The Art of Career Dressing" contains photos of outfits designed for the workplace. Finally, "Know Your Wears" teaches what to look for in textures and fabrics. The last area is "Lingerie Time," the name of the company's infant chain of value-priced, brand name lingerie stores. Here, women will treat themselves to a wonderful experience of romance and elegance as they preview the latest in intimate apparel. The Clothestime Inc. currently operates two selling divisions, Clothestime and Lingerie Time. Clothestime operates 528 stores in 21 states and Puerto Rico, offering primarily in-season, moderately priced sportswear, dresses and accessories, emphasizing fashion at a discount from department and specialty stores. Lingerie Time operates nine stores in two states, offering discounts from suggested manufacturers' retail prices. CONTACT: Clothestime Jeffrey Dake, 714/779-5881, ext. 2202 |
