Clothestime Stores Inc. Announces Grand Opening In Madison Heights, Mich.


ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 1998--Clothestime Stores Inc,. a leading junior women's specialty retailer, Tuesday announced the grand opening of their newest store, located in the popular Madison Place shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. David Sejpal, chairman of the board and chief executive officer, said the new Clothestime, now privately held by management, is a much stronger company poised for growth. Madison Heights is the first new Clothestime store to open since November 1996, and is the first in the company's store expansion program, which will add 15 to 20 new stores over the next 12 to 18 months.

 Architects Inc., a firm recently hired by Clothestime to enhance the stores' image.

The design direction will be to create a more modern store that allows shoppers to have an overview of merchandise before entering the store, a higher level of lighting, and bolder use of color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.

The company has hired Barbara Fields, well-known Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  fashion consultant, to assist them in maintaining fashion-forward inventory that is up-to-date with the latest trends. Sejpal believes this collaborative effort will enable Clothestime Stores to capture a larger share of the junior market.

"We want to be the first place that junior consumers come to shop," said Sejpal.

Clothestime has retained Pasadena Advertising to launch a fresh, aggressive advertising campaign, utilizing radio, direct mail, and expanding the company's current Web site. The ads will promote Clothestime as "the" place to shop for hip, trendy fashions in casual and wear to work clothes in a cool, fun atmosphere at affordable prices.

In addition, Robert Klausner, vice president of store operations, announced that the company's four regional managers have been promoted to regional sales directors, in recognition of their outstanding job performance.
