Closures Europe have just recently launched an addition to their product portfolio the 1010 Dud Detector.

Developed at Closures Europe's centre of excellence at Aprilia in Italy, the electronic 1010 dud detector has all the advantages of being non contact, whilst retaining the ability to detect unsealed closures and jars with insufficient vacua. They tell us it comes complete with its own sensing gauge, which allows fast unskilled cap and jar size change-overs to be undertaken efficiently.
