Closure of Caltrain Station Hurts 300 Bellarmine College Prep Families.

WHAT: News Conference prior to Public Hearing
Members of the Bellarmine College Preparatory community will
attend - en masse - a public hearing regarding Caltrain's
proposed suspension of service to College Park Station. The
closure would effect 300 students, faculty and staff of
Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose who rely on
service to College Park Station each day from as far north as
San Mateo County and as far south as Gilroy.
Bellarmine supporters will arrive at the San Carlos Station
via Caltrain at 9:20 a.m., and a news conference will be held
immediately upon arrival. Following the news conference, the
large group - including students, parents, alumni and
administrators - will walk to the Caltrain Administrative
Office, 1250 San Carlos Avenue, to attend the 10:00 a.m.
public hearing regarding the proposal. More than 1,900
letters of support to keep College Park Station open will be
delivered to Caltrain at the public hearing.
Media are invited to ride aboard Caltrain with Bellarmine
supporters who will depart from the Santa Clara Station at
8:44 a.m.
