 man found out that it's hard to deny culpability culpability (See: culpable)  in a burglary burglary, at common law, the breaking and entering of a dwelling house of another at night with the intent to commit a felony, whether the intent is carried out or not.  when bullet holes inflicted by the burglary victim still mar your car.

The first clue that police had that Richard Mwanzi was guilty of stealing 21 guns from a gun store came when he was caught carrying one of the stolen guns after being involved in a fight. The irrefutable irrefutable - The opposite of refutable.  evidence that clinched the case for police and laid the blame for the burglary on Mwanzi came when they realized that his car matched the description of the burglary suspect's vehicle, and they got a search warrant to examine it.

Their examination produced two more of the stolen guns and "slugs See State and local government series.  ... that had been fired by the store's owner," reported the Times Union (Albany, N.Y.). After the police had Mwanzi cold, he began to cooperate with them in regard to the burglary of the 21 guns as well as the burglary of another gun store where three guns were stolen. With Mwanzi's help, police recovered all but five of the guns from the two thefts.

Mwanzi has been charged with third-degree burglary and other crimes.
