Rupert Davies (22 May 1916 – 22 November 1976) was a British actor. He remains best known for playing the title role in the BBC's 1960s television adaptation of the Maigret
, and an interview with him that serves as an introduction to Beginning to Pray (Paulist Press).

Bloom's father was a member of the Russian Imperial Diplomatic Corps and his mother was the sister of the composer Alexander Scriabin. At the time of the revolution, his father was serving in Persia.
