Clorox Names New V.P. of Research and Development.

OAKLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1999--

The Clorox Company (NYSE/PE:CLX) today announced that Dr. Wayne Delker, currently a general manager at the Silicones Division of the General Electric Company, has accepted the position of vice president of research and development at Clorox.

Since 1985, Delker has held positions of increasing responsibility, including the most senior R&D position, at GE Silicones, a division of GE Plastics whose businesses include cleaning and personal care additives sold to a variety of formulators and manufacturers, including Clorox. In his current assignment, Delker oversees the design and implementation of growth and quality initiatives for the silicones business in North and South America, Europe and the Pacific. In this capacity, his responsibilities include product quality and performance, productivity, and environmental health and safety.

Delker received his undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago and his Ph.D. in chemistry from Columbia University. He and his wife and their three children currently reside in Ballston Lake, New York.
