Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  Jerry Johnston, Stein will oversee the company's legal services legal services n. the work performed by a lawyer for a client.  and internal audit functions. She has been elected an officer of the company by Clorox's board of directors, and has been appointed a member of the company's management executive committee.

Stein, 43, brings more than 17 years of corporate legal and governance experience. She was senior vice president - general counsel for H.J. Heinz Company where she was responsible for Heinz's global legal, ethics, compliance, corporate secretary and enterprise risk management matters. Stein joined Heinz in 2000 after serving eight years with The Clorox Company, most recently as assistant general counsel -- regulatory affairs Regulatory Affairs (RA), also called Government Affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, and banking. Regulatory Affairs professionals usually have responsibility for the following general areas:
. Prior to that, Stein was a business lawyer with Morrison & Forester in San Francisco. Stein grew up in Minneapolis and earned her law degree from Harvard Law School Harvard Law School (colloquially, Harvard Law or HLS) is one of the professional graduate schools of Harvard University. Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Harvard Law is considered one of the most prestigious law schools in the United States.  and undergraduate and master's degrees from Dartmouth College.
