The scheme is particularly aimed at those who face the greatest difficulty in entering the labour market and is designed to assist groups which do not have the experience or capacity to access mainstream funding."

Jenny Brogden, Global Grants project manager, said: "We particularly welcome applications from groups for projects that are innovative or unusual, providing they meet all the criteria. Unlike many grant schemes, Global Grants does not require any match funding, so it can be used to fund 100 per cent of the cost of a project.

"All we need to know is what the money will be spent on, what outcomes will result from the grant and how this will be achieved."
