Clinton Hospital Partnership Program receives $40,000 gift from credit union.

CLINTON - The Clinton Hospital Partnership Program has received a donation of $40,000 from Leominster Credit Union.

At the presentation Thursday, Sheila Daly, president and chief executive officer of Clinton Hospital, accepted the donation from Gordon Edmonds, president and CEO of Leominster Credit Union.

With this sizeable donation, LCU took its place as the second local organization to make a long-term investment in Clinton Hospital through the Clinton Hospital Partnership program.

"Leominster Credit Union believes that partnerships are essential to a growing and prosperous community," Mr. Edmonds said. "Clinton Hospital is part of the fabric of the community. Clearly, the hospital is recognized for the routine and emergency medical services that it provides to Clinton and surrounding communities."

"But the hospital is more than that," he added. "It is a resource for health and related information. It is a large employer. It contributes much to the community. We feel a kinship to the hospital in that LCU is also a resource for financial services, an employer and a supporter of so many community activities. That's why it is so important for Leominster Credit Union to lend our support to Clinton Hospital."

Ms. Daly expressed her gratitude to the credit union.

"Leominster Credit Union has a long history of support for Clinton Hospital through previous donations over the years," Ms. Daly said. "We are thrilled to welcome the company into our family once again through the Clinton Hospital Partnership, and we believe this relationship will have great benefits for the hospital, LCU and, most importantly, members of our community in need of high-quality health care."

LCU's gift will

finance the renovation of a triage room in the hospital's emergency department.

"The existing triage room is a confining space that restricts the comfort of our patients and limits the ability of our staff to maneuver around the room easily. The generous support of Leominster Credit Union will allow us to rebuild and enlarge the room, ultimately providing our patients and staff with a much more comfortable experience," Ms. Daly said.

"We think that's a great investment in Clinton Hospital and the community," Mr. Edmonds said. "This area impacts so many people at some of the most stressful times in their lives. An updated triage area will expedite patient assessment and treatment, and ultimately lessen the anxiety and stress associated with visits to the Emergency Room."

The Clinton Hospital Partnership is a Clinton Hospital and Clinton Hospital Foundation initiative, kicked off earlier this year with a donation from Nypro Inc. and the Nypro Foundation. That donation went toward the hospital's recent purchase of state-of-the-art digital mammography equipment. The partnership program's goal is to form collaborations between the hospital and local corporations, foundations and individuals who are dedicated to securing high-quality health care in the local community.

These entities join the partnership by making long-term financial commitments to the hospital's ongoing major equipment purchases and facility upgrades.
