Robert Davidson (1804 - 1894) was a Scottish inventor who built the first known electric locomotive in 1837.
 of the Clinton Historical Commission recently bestowed the 2008 Preservation Award to the Museum of Russian Icons The Museum of Russian Icons opened in October 2006 in Clinton, Massachusetts, United States.

The Museum was created by collector Gordon Lankton to house his extensive collection of Russian icons.

The award is given annually by the Clinton Historical Commission, in acknowledgement of efforts to preserve 19th and 20th century architecture, which is important and intrinsic to the Town of Clinton.

The honor recognizes the museum's ability to design, build and rehabilitate re·ha·bil·i·tate

1. To restore to good health or useful life, as through therapy and education.

2. To restore to good condition, operation, or capacity.
 a historic site for continuing use in the 21st century, preserving a visible association with the town's past while providing a continued sense of cohesive pride, identity and heritage within the community.

The Museum of Russian Icons preservation efforts are in line with a stream of recent Clinton projects, such as the renovation of the historical Bigelow Offices, The Clinton Library and the Clinton Post Office. The use and making of icons entered Kievan Rus' (which later expanded to become the Russian Empire) followed its conversion to Orthodox Christianity in 988 A.D.
