The presentation to Eastwood will take place during the ADG's Fifth Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2000, from the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills Beverly Hills, city (1990 pop. 31,971), Los Angeles co., S Calif., completely surrounded by the city of Los Angeles; inc. 1914. The largely residential city is home to many motion-picture and television personalities. .

The award is voted from time to time to an individual whose body of work in the film business has richly enhanced the visual aspects of the movie-going experience. Past recipients of this honor are Blake Edwards, Robert S. Wise and Norman Jewison.

As previously announced, production designer Jan Scott, winner of more primetime Emmy Awards than any other production designer in television history, will receive the organization's Honorary Lifetime Achievement Award that same night.

Clint Eastwood holds a unique position in the motion picture pantheon with his stand-out portrayals as an actor and his distinguished career as director and producer. Starting as a contract player in 1955, he has since starred in 43 films (appearing in 54), directed 22 and produced 17. In 11 films he has taken on all three duties.

In January 2000 he accepted a Lifetime Career Achievement Award from New York's National Board of Review. The People's Choice Awards The People's Choice Awards is an awards show recognizing the people and the work of popular culture. The show has been held annually since 1975 and is one of the few to be based on the opinions of the general public.  named him Favorite Motion Picture Actor five times.

He has received many other honors both in the United States and in Europe including the prestigious Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Early this month in Washington, Eastwood received a Kennedy Center Honor in recognition of his career as an actor and filmmaker.

In 1993 Eastwood's "Unforgiven" received nine Academy Award nominations and four Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director. The film also won awards throughout the world. His 1996 film, "The Bridges of Madison County" was the recipient of many honors. His films "Bird," "Pale Rider" and "White Hunter, Black Heart" also received worldwide recognition.

A long-standing relationship has also existed between Eastwood and the Museum of Modern Art in New York New York, state, United States
