Dr. Poggio previously served as Managing Vice President and Executive Director Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Abt Associates Clinical Trials (AACT).

Dr. Poggio is a well-known biostatistician, who regularly represents clients at the FDA. For the past 20 years, Dr. Poggio has directed the Biostatistics and Epidemiology Department at Abt Associates. In this role, he oversaw the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical trials on behalf of companies in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. These clinical trials encompassed a wide range of therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, central nervous system, dermatology, endocrinology, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, gynecology and obstetrics, HIV/AIDS, immunology and allergic disorders, infectious disease, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, and pulmonary indications. Many of the clinical trials overseen by Dr. Poggio have been pivotal studies that have formed the basis for new product approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
