Clinical results from algae to xanthin.

At HiE, this year, Bio Serae Laboratories will present the results of its latest studies conducted on its innovative functional ingredients for the nutraceutical and functional food industry:

NeOpuntia is a healthy, lipophilic cactus fibre that has a positive effect on balancing blood lipid parameters and reducing associated cardiovascular risks. These Syndrome X-related clinical results were published in the October 2007 issue of Advances in Therapy.

CactiNea is a prickly pear cactus-fruit water extract with an exceptional indicaxanthin content, the most bioavailable betalain. A recent in vivo study highlighted that Cacti-Nea could help to eliminate excess fluids (diuretic properties) and reinforce antioxidant protection.

The latest in vivo study conducted on ID-aIG (seaweed extract) has confirmed its weight-management properties. Delivered with a fat-enriched meal, it showed a weight gain reduction of 22% compared with the control group (p=0.029), and a reduction of body mass (p=0.005).
