STOCKHOLM, Sweden--(BW HealthWire)--Oct. 7, 1998--GAMBRO Healthcare, Inc., the second largest provider of kidney dialysis services in the United States, today announced that during the first nine months through September clinic openings set a Gambro record with 44 dialysis centers opened via de novo development or acquisition throughout the United States. Clinics in twelve states accounted for 2,100 additional patients treated.

Gambro wholly owns 30 of these US clinics. The remainder are joint ventures or managed facilities.
