Climber falls 20ft onto his nose.

Owen Edward Hughes (born: 1848 - died: 1932) was a former territorial level politician and Member of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly from 1885 until 1888.
 

A DOCTOR fell 20ft onto his nose in a climbing accident in Snowdonia.

The 48-year-old from Preston in Lancashire was climbing with another doctor at Braich Ty Du, next to the A5 in the Ogwen Valley.

He was on the first stage of his climb when he lost his footing and fell around 20ft.

He suffered a broken nose and a broken arm in the fall.

He participated at the World Championships in 2003 and 2005, the World Indoor Championships in 2004 and 2006 and the 2004 Olympic Games without ever reaching the final.

 had fallen badly onto his nose and arm but was lucky in that he fell onto grass and heather below rather than onto rocks. We checked his condition at the scene.

"He was injured and was very shaken by the fall but he was able to walk off the mountain with team members and down to the road.

"The team took the man to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor where he was treated for a broken nose and broken arm."
