Climb up Snowdon left us all nursing sore feet.

Byline: By Samantha Clarke

A GROUP of intrepid nurses enjoyed champagne celebrations at more than 3,500ft after climbing to the top of Snowdon.

Ten members of the Wood End District Nursing Team nursed sore legs and feet after the six-hour challenge.

Team events co-ordinator Louise Lee and her intrepid colleagues put their best feet forward for the challenge, in aid of Comic Relief comic relief

They spent three hours climbing the mountain, and three hours coming back down.

Louise, aged 34, said: "We always said we should do something as we're always giving something out in our jobs, but we felt we needed to raise money for charity.

"We'd been practising walking around the streets at lunch time and people were beeping Beeping is a cellphone communications tactic where a cash-strapped cellphone caller gets the person he/she is "beeping" to call him/her back. [1] Method  their horns at us.

"I'd done a couple of walks but nothing like this. It's a good team-building event.

At the top of the mountain, the nurses toasted their success with champagne. Louise said: "It was gale force winds at the top so we weren't up there for long. We had our picture taken, enjoyed a glass of champagne and then headed back down.

"We were all a bit sore the next day. We'd got sore legs and feet and a few people lost a toe-nail."

The nurses are now planning another climb and are considering an attempt on Ben Nevis Ben Nevis (nē`vĭs, nĕv`ĭs), peak, 4,406 ft (1,343 m) high, Highland, W Scotland, overlooking Glen Nevis; highest peak of Great Britain. . Louise said: "We were really elated and we want to do it again."

The team are still taking donations for Comic Relief. Contact them on 024 7684 3113.
