Climate change levy seminars.A series of five climate change seminars, jointly organised by CIMA and energy efficiency promoter A person who devises a plan for a business venture; one who takes the preliminary steps necessary for the formation of a corporation. Promoters are the people, who, for themselves or on behalf of others, organize a corporation. BRECSU BRECSU Building Research Energy Conservation Support Unit (promoting energy efficiency in new construction) , will take place around the country during February and March. The first of these will be in London in the week beginning 12 February. Presentations will address: * the climate change levy The Climate Change Levy (CCL) is a tax on energy delivered to non-domestic users in the United Kingdom. Its aim is to provide an incentive to increase energy efficiency and to reduce carbon emissions, however there have been ongoing calls to replace it with a proper carbon tax. -- who it applies to, exemptions and enhanced capital allowances; * ways to reduce energy costs; * strategic issues -- investment appraisal investment appraisal evaluation of the potential profitability of a proposed investment. , capital investment etc; * the role of the accountant.
