What is LabelNet?

LabelNet is DLI's password-protected manufacturer-to-dealer website, and was created by Sword Microsystems, Inc. in 1997. The site provides an easy-to-use, comprehensive means for DLI's dealers to conduct business directly with DLI through a secure web interface. Dealers are able to order products directly, download marketing materials and collateral, as well as verify online transactions and check order status. The site came about when DLI saw that its competitors were releasing electronic bulletin boards for communicating with suppliers. With market-leading foresight (graphics, tool) Foresight - A software product from Nu Thena providing graphical modelling tools for high level system design and simulation. , DLI saw the Web as a preferred medium for conducting business, and wanted to be the first in their industry to market an e-business system. Using foundational e-business technologies and business process expertise, Sword built the award-winning system that helped DLI achieve their goal. "It speaks very highly of Discount Labels and their vision, and our ability to make their vision come true," said Steve Wakefield, President/CEO of Sword Microsystems. "The award shows that not only were they the first, but the best (in their industry)." DLI's competitors are still trying to catch up. The LabelNet site currently conducts business with thousands of dealers and distributors and brings in a major portion of sales volume per month.
