ClickNet Software, a leading supplier of software solutions for network management and Year 2000 compliance, today announced extensive price cuts including a 34 percent list price reduction for its ClickNet Y2k Year 2000 compliance software to qualifying customers. Additionally, the company announced per node reductions of up to 75 percent. The company also announced a 25 percent reduction in the list price of its ClickNet Professional 5 network resource management software for customers who purchase ClickNet Y2k after Sept. 20, 1999. The ClickNet Y2k and ClickNet Professional 5 price reductions underscore the message to companies that it is not too late to effectively reduce their Year 2000 compliance risk by conducting thorough assessment and remediation.

Tomlinson said ClickNet's extensive work with major corporate clients, suppliers and partners has resulted in a huge 38,000-title knowledge base that will continually be updated into the Year 2000 and beyond with the newest software versions, patches and compliance information. Customers of ClickNet Y2k can download the latest knowledge base from the ClickNet Web site 24 hours a day.

ClickNet Y2k simplifies and automates Year 2000 compliance so that companies can quickly and easily determine whether the recommended corrective actions from software publishers have been successfully applied. The software detects patches, custom applications and data files, and provides automated network inventories, hardware and software compliance assessment, accurate testing of repaired software, progress monitoring, comprehensive reporting and detailed recommendations for corrective action.

Qualification for the ClickNet Y2k reduction promotion depends on meeting one of two requirements. Customers must have installed and used any of the following products: Viasoft OnMark 2000, Symantec Norton 2000, GMT Check 2000, Platinum Trans Century Office, Centennial 2000, WRQ Express 2000, Network Associates ZAC 2000, Microsoft SMS (when used for Y2k compliance) or GASP. Or, alternatively, customers must agree to use ClickNet Y2k for Year 2000 software compliance assessment and remediation only.

Qualifying customers will receive the ClickNet Y2k Base Pack for only $195 compared to the product's previous $295 list price. Additional licenses are available at $9 per node up to 475 nodes (compared to the previous $30 per node pricing), and $7 per node up to 4,975 licenses, a reduction of 75 percent. Any customer who purchases 100 licenses or more of ClickNet Y2k also qualifies to purchase ClickNet Professional 5 for $371 (compared to $495 normally) for the Base Pack with a 10-node license.

ClickNet Professional 5, the latest version of its successful network resource management software, also leverages the company's huge software and patch knowledge base, and provides a high-performance, proprietary architecture for extremely accurate and fast network audits across Windows and Macintosh networks ranging from 200 to 1,500 nodes.
