Cabela's(R) and DuPont Thermolite(R) Insulation have partnered again to support a web site, http://www.cabelasiditarod.com, devoted to the Iditarod 2001 International Sled Dog sled dog

Any working dog used to pull a sled carrying people and supplies across snow and ice. The breeds most commonly used are the Alaskan malamute, Laika, Samoyed, and Siberian husky. All are powerful dogs with a thick coat and high endurance. See also Eskimo dog.

The site will feature race updates three times daily via satellite phone, laptop computer and digital camera, from former 1989 Iditarod champion Joe Runyan. The site also offers Cabela's(R) Iditarod gear, insulated in·su·late

"THE LAST GREAT RACE ON EARTH"

Musher Jeff King, competing in his twelfth race, will cover over 1,100 miles of Alaskan wilderness. Called "The Last Great Race On Earth", the Iditarod, beginning on March 3rd, will take King and eighty other mushers from Anchorage Anchorage (ăng`kərĭj), city (1990 pop. 226,338), Anchorage census div., S central Alaska, a port at the head of Cook Inlet; inc. 1920.  all the way to Nome, Alaska Nome is a city located on the southern Seward Peninsula coast of Norton Sound in the Nome Census Area of the U.S. state of Alaska. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the city population was 3,590. . He will be braving windchill temperatures dipping down to -50 F, wearing the Trans-Alaska suit by Cabela's(R), and insulated with DuPont Thermolite(R) Micro.
