Cleveland-Cliffs Inc announces election of Cynthia B. Bezik as Vice President and Treasurer.


CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 1995--Cleveland-Cliffs Inc today announced the election of Cynthia B. Bezik as Vice President and Treasurer, effective October 1, 1995.

Bezik, currently Treasurer and Director - Financial Planning, joined the Company in 1979 and has held increasingly responsible positions in internal auditing, financial analysis, and planning. She began her career with Ernst & Young as an accountant.

Bezik has an undergraduate degree in business administration from Youngstown State University Youngstown State University, at Youngstown, Ohio; coeducational; est. 1908 as a department of the Youngstown Association School sponsored by the Young Men's Christian Association. In 1921 the school became the Youngstown Institute of Technology, changing its name in 1928 to the Youngstown College. The school gained university status in 1955 and adopted its present name in 1967, when it joined the Ohio system of higher education. and a master's degree in finance from Case Western Reserve Western Reserve, tract of land in NE Ohio, on the southern shore of Lake Erie, retained by Connecticut in 1786 when it ceded its claims to its western lands (see Northwest Territory). In 1792, Connecticut gave 500,000 acres (202,350 hectares), called "firelands," to citizens whose property was burned during the American Revolution. University Case Western Reserve University, at Cleveland; coeducational; est. 1967 through the merger of the Case Institute of Technology (chartered 1880, opened 1881) and Western Reserve Univ. (chartered and opened 1826). Case Western Reserve is made up of a liberal arts college, a school of graduate studies, an institute of science and technology, and six professional schools: law, dentistry, medicine, nursing, management, and social work..

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc subsidiaries manage seven iron ore mines in North America and Australia. The Company has equity interests in six of the mines, holds a substantial iron ore reserve position in the United States, is a major iron ore merchant, and is developing production of direct reduced iron.
