Cleveland's Newest TV Station Speaks Espanol; Univision Debuts a New Station That Will Serve the Interests of the Region's Growing Hispanic Community.

CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2002

Univision Communications Inc., the fifth largest television network and the leading Spanish-language television broadcast company in the country, announced the inauguration of the first Spanish-language television station in Northeast Ohio. WQHS-TV Channel 61, the network's newest owned-and-operated full power station, begins broadcasting today in the Greater Cleveland Greater Cleveland is a nickname for the metropolitan area surrounding Cleveland in Ohio.

Overseeing the management of Univision WQHS-TV will be newly appointed Regional General Manager Augustine Martinez. Prior to his appointment at WQHS, Martinez was General Manager of Univision's flagship station In broadcasting, a flagship station is the station which originates a broadcast network, or a particular radio show or TV show, primarily in the United States and Canada.
