Cleric Terms Freezing of Iran's Assets Sign of US Hostility.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran's Provisional Friday Prayers Leader Hojjatoleslam Kazzem Sediqi said on Friday that freezing Iran's assets by Washington is a sign of the US hostility towards the Iranian nation.

"Americans' move in confiscating properties and assets of our country is a sign of their enmity and hostility with the Iranian nation, while showing their brutality," Hojjatoleslam Sediqi said in his second Friday prayers sermon in Tehran University campus on Friday.He said Americans have once again unveiled their dirty image to Iran."The Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on the first day of the current (Iranian) year that contrary to the false appearance of the US administration and silky-smooth slogans of the US President, they (Americans) will show no change in their action and behavior towards Iran," the Islamic republic news agency quoted Sediqi as saying."He (the Supreme Leader) emphasized (in his speech) that whenever they (Americans) show in action that they want to come into terms with and observe rights of other nations, we will also give positive answer in deed," the cleric noted."Those times that (the Supreme Leader's view) was hard to believe. There were certain others that maintained since the country faces economic problems, we should establish ties with the US as soon as possible. The people thought relations with the US will be like living in super paradise, being the key to all our economic problems. This is while, relations with the US, which is an aggressive state, will reap no pride for a nation," Sediqi went on saying.He added that soon, it became evident that the wishful thinkers were mistaken and the US has not stopped its aggressive nature. "You should know that the Iranian nation does not fear any threat. The nation, which succeeded to defend the country in the era of Sacred Defense (1980-88), does not fear the US, the eastern block and the whole world," he noted.The cleric said Iranian nation has successfully passed all tests and repelled all the sophisticated weapons during the eight-year Sacred Defense by relying on God Almighty.Talking with the nation with the language of force and intimidation will bring nothing but misery and misfortune for Americans, he added.
