Clergy reversal.


An appeals panel of the United Methodist Church United Methodist Church, in the United States, religious body formed by the union in 1968 of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Methodist Church (see Methodism).  on April 29 reversed a lower church court decision to defrock de·frock

1. To strip of priestly privileges and functions.

2. To deprive of the right to practice a profession.

 after she revealed she was in a lesbian relationship. But the church is appealing, and Stroud is waiting to put her robes back on. "I don't want my celebrating communion to be a symbol of who's winning or who's losing in my case," she said.
