Clergy Sexual Abuse: Out of the Shadows--a Shadow Report on the Holy See and the Rights of the Child.

CFFC launched a new publication, Clergy Sexual Abuse: Out of the Shadows--A Shadow Report on the Holy See and the Rights of the Child, during the UN Special Session on Children in New York in May. The report analyzes the law, policy and practices of the Holy See and shows that it is in violation of the principles and standards of the Convention on the Rights of the Child regarding basic health and welfare of children (article 27), special protection measures (articles 34, 36, 37, 39), and measures of implementation (articles 4, 44). The report draws on documented cases of abuse and deliberate cover-ups by church officials.

Copies of the report cost $10.00, including postage and handling, and are available from Catholics for a Free Choice, 1436 U Street, NW, #301, Washington, DC 20009, USA.
