The report analyzes the law, policy and practices of the Holy See and shows that it is in violation of the principles and standards of the Convention on the Rights of the Child The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, often referred to as CRC or UNCRC, is an international convention setting out the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights of children.  regarding basic health and welfare of children (article 27), special protection measures (articles 34, 36, 37, 39), and measures of implementation (articles 4, 44). The report draws on documented cases of abuse and deliberate cover-ups by church officials.
