The Life & Times series from Haus Publishing is carefully researched and lavishly illustrated. Mao Zedong is a thorough biography that includes many quotes from the Chairman himself. Author Jonathan Clements Jonathan Clements (born July 9, 1971) is a British author and scriptwriter. His non-fiction works include biographies of Confucius, Koxinga and Qin Shihuangdi (the First Emperor of China), as well as monthly opinion columns for Newtype USA and NEO.  has studied Chinese and written extensively on other historical figures. The text covers Mao's early life, education (shortened by his "spoilt, rebellious nature" that caused his expulsion from several schools), early political involvement, four wives, leadership of the nascent nascent /nas·cent/ (nas´ent) (na´sent)

Jones's tale of Cleopatra reveals no secrets. it is detailed and just as full of politics as the life of Mao. It is difficult to understand the "real" woman in part because much of what we know of her comes from Roman historians who were biased against her. Roman public opinion "strongly opposed Caesar's relationship with Cleopatra." After Caesar's death she turned to Mark Antony, but not before having her brother-husband and co-ruler, Ptolemy XIV Ptolemy XIV (Ptolemy Caesarion), 47–30 B.C., son of Cleopatra and (almost certainly) Julius Caesar. He became joint ruler with his mother, but played no role in the great and tragic events that brought Egypt and Cleopatra to their doom. , murdered.
