Data mining has entered a new era of openness as SPSS BI, a division of SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS), introduces the Clementine Plus Partner Program. Six vendors have signed up for this new program, which enables vendors to integrate their product with the Clementine workflow interface. Data mining customers will enjoy the ability to use these vendors' leading tools within the Clementine interface.

Led by MINEit Software and AISoftw@re, who have already completed integration work, Hugin Expert, Salford Systems, Data Digest, 3DV8 and DSS Consulting have committed to integrating their tools within Clementine's workflow interface. The vendors will use Clementine's External Module Interface (CEMI) to add their own programs, such as data-processing routines or modeling algorithms, to Clementine.

    --  DSS Consulting-- provide solutions for different business
        problems using the most sophisticated IT tools, including
        Bayesian technologies.

    --  Hugin Expert--a world leader in developing software for
        advanced decision support systems based on Bayesian Network
        technology.

    --  MINEit Software--improves customer relationships and Web site
        visits by enabling users to understand the sequence of
        customer actions.

    --  Salford Systems--offers award-winning decision-tree and
        predictive technology including CART(R), the winner of the KDD
        2000 Cup, and MARS, a leading data mining tool.

    --  Data Digest -- Based on Bayesian and Decision Analytic
        technologies, Business Navigator 5 enables analysts and
        executives to interactively create models and explore
        predictive relationships without the need for specialized
