William P. Montague, the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has been elected to succeed Mr. Arrison as President and Chief Operating Officer. John J. Byrne John J. Byrne (born 1931) is a longtime insurance industry executive who was CEO of GEICO, White Mountain Insurance Group and Fireman's Fund. He also served as chairman of Overstock.com. , currently Vice President - Finance, will succeed Mr. Montague as Chief Financial Officer. Sal H. Alfiero, Mark IV's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will continue in that capacity. Mr. Arrison, 65, has been President and a Director of the company since November 1976. He will continue to serve on Mark IV's Board of Directors, and as a consultant to the company. William P. Montague, 49, joined Mark IV as Treasurer in April 1972. He became Vice President - Finance in May 1974, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in March 1986. Mr. Montague was also appointed to Mark IV's Board, expanding the number of Directors to six, effective March 1, 1996. John J. Byrne, 46, will assume the additional responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer effective March 1, 1996. Mr. Byrne joined Mark IV in September 1973, was elected Treasurer in 1981, and Vice President - Finance in 1988.
