MIMEsweeper SMTP Appliance broke new ground when it was launched in September 2005 thanks to a unique range of functionality, which truly addressed the issues facing those responsible for e-mail administration -- namely reducing complexity while increasing security and efficiency. This new version continues with this mission, adding Personal Message Management (PMM), TLS encryption, further enhancements to policy management and a new version of SpamLogic.

Personal Message Manager

Key to Version 2.3 is the addition of a new Personal Message Manager which offers a transparent, user-focused approach to managing incoming e-mail, relieving the IT burden created by the deluge of spam and other prohibited e-mail, in a user-friendly but secure way. The PMM allows users to manage their personal e-mail traffic by giving simple access to appropriate quarantine areas and the ability to release any legitimate e-mails from there. User control is simple, transparent and intuitive and requires no training.

For instance, IT administrators can now visually check policy routes via flow chart diagrams. This ensures a level of policy management other solutions cannot match.

New TLS Encryption

New TLS encryption has also been added to allow secure communication with trusted third parties without the need for complex encryption systems, providing a further avenue to ease the content security burden.

Enhanced SpamLogic

Additional enhancements include a new version of Clearswift's SpamLogic technology, which provides users with a comprehensive array of defenses against spam to deliver accuracy rates of over 99%.
