Businesses Stay Wired by Going Wireless -- Facts and Stats -0-

"Corporate Buying of Wireless Services and Equipment," Cahners
In-Stat Group, August 1998

-- Research by leading industry analysts supports Sprint PCS'
aggressive stance in the business market. Cahners In-Stat Group
predicts that while one in four employees use wireless phones for
business purposes today, that figure will grow to one in three by
the year 2000. Additionally, the group predicts wireless budgets
for businesses are expected to increase 50 percent by the year
2002, signaling new opportunities within those segments.

-- "Historically, wireless phones were intended for the corporate
elite, particularly executives. Companies now understand that
wireless phones are valuable tools that allow employees to stay
in touch with other employees, customers, and suppliers."

"HAL gets real: Computing trends in the new Millennium," Cahners
In-Stat Group, Press Release, April 13, 1999

-- "'Out of the office' is no longer an excuse. Can't be reached
because you're out of the office? Forget about it. The trend
towards increased mobility will continue among families and
businesses, driving the demand for portability and instant access
     to information."

"A Wireless Revolution: Medium and Large Market Wireless
Opportunities," Cahners In-Stat Group December 2, 1998

-- By 2002, medium and large firms (those with 100+ employees) will
spend over $127 billion on wireless equipment and services, up
from roughly $54 billion in 1998. Both strong growth in wireless
communications usage and growing wireless budgets are leading to
increasing wireless opportunities within these segments.

"Mobile User Survey Series -- Looking for the Next Generation of
Wireless User," The Yankee Group, November 1998

-- Nearly 50 percent of Mobile Users -- people who have adopted
mobile technologies (such as a wireless phone or hand-held
computing device) -- cite a home office as their secondary
workspace, while more than 35 percent of Business Travelers
describe a "mobile office," (such as a hotel room or time on the
     road) as their secondary workspace.

-- Hours Spent at the Secondary Work Place -- Continuing on the
trend from previous years, workers who have a secondary
workplace spend an average of 15 hours per week at their
secondary workplace. The total average of hours worked per
week is 45, including people who do or do not have a
          secondary workplace.

-- Secondary Office Environment -- 41.9 percent of Mobile Users
have a home office as their secondary workspace, and
35.5 percent of Business Travelers describe a "mobile
office" (e.g., hotel room, or time on the road) as their
secondary workspace. Their computing and communications
needs will be met primarily by mobile devices.

-- Commuting/Business Travel -- With the increased mobility
offered by new technologies, business travel is becoming
more accessible because travelers can stay "in touch" with
co-workers back at their primary workspace, thus being more
          productive and efficient.

-- Seventy-four percent of Business Travelers spend over 15 days per
month traveling (on average, 16 days per month on the road), and
44% of their trips do not involve an overnight stay. Business
Travelers are the ones spending significant amounts of time
traveling and commuting, time which they can use mobile
technologies to communicate with co-workers, clients, family and
be productive. The services they subscribe to are typically
subsidized by their businesses, thereby creating an opportunity
for carriers to generate revenues through high usage and advanced
     services.

-- The percentage of Business Travelers who own a wireless phone is
     58.5 percent.

-- Advanced mobile technologies are typically introduced into the
workplace before they are adopted for personal usage. Business
exposure creates opportunities for wireless services to be
infused into personal life styles because the secondary
workplace, if a consumer has one, is often a remote location
requiring use of mobile-enabled technologies. The secondary
workplace is an evolving target market for wireless voice and
data technologies since it bridges business and personal usage.
