Clearing way to success.

When Hereford student Jim Goulding didn't do as well in his A-levels as he'd hoped, he turned to a school careers adviser for help.

That's when he found out about the UCAS clearing system and that it wasn't too late to enroll on a university course.

Whilst researching courses available Jim came across Birmingham City University's Computing and Electronics Bsc.

Within two weeks Jim had visited the university, found out more, applied and enrolled! He never looked back and truly made the most of his time at University.

Following a move onto the Property & Construction Degree, Jim has been heavily involved in activities in the Student Union, chairing the Sports Council. He is also an active member of the Student Council and was president of the rugby club for four years.

He said: "I love the diversity of students at Birmingham City University. I've never met such a different and peculiar group of people, in a good way.

"I really have made the most of my time at University. I never thought I'd be here. The clearing system made it all possible."
